Gratitude Journal: Day 30

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Gratitude.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using water based media.

I scribbled on the page just as I did yesterday.

And washed water over it with a very wet brush.

I used the damp brush method again to stencil onto the corners through a map stencil.

I stamped the word with Distress Ink.  I started with a pale colour but it didn't show up very well so went for a darker one.

I coloured over the stamping with a gold pen and outlined it in black.  I stuck the quote and the verse down.

I wrote my journaling between the stamped letters.

Thank you for following my Gratitude Journal over the last month.  Tomorrow on An Attitude of Gratitude 2013 I will be posting all of my pages together.  I hope you will pop over there to see them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gratitude Journal: Day 29

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Reflection.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using water based media.

I used Inktense bars but I could have use watercolour crayons or NeoColor II to get the same effect.  I scribbled over the page.

With a very wet brush I swooshed water over the page blending the colours together.

With  a damp brush I brushed paint from the Inktense bar through the stencil on parts of the page.

I stamped the title using DIstress Ink.

Then I coloured over the stamping with a silver pen and outlined it in black.

I wrote my journaling along two sides of the page.

I felt there was too big an empty space so I added some washi tape.

Gratitude Journal: Day 28

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Zero-tolerance.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using water based media.

I sprayed Dylusions inks over the page and put scrunched up cling film over it.

I didn't get much result the first time - I don't think I had the page wet enough so I did it again and yuou can just see the marks it made.  I inked through the stencil with Distress Inks.

And again at the top right.

I put on the title, the verse and the quote.

This left me with a large space.  I put down some washi tape to make lines for the journaling and then wrote between the lines.

Gratitude Journal: Day 27

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Yearn.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using water based media.

I followed the instructions on Dyan's video and sprayed inks on the page.

Then I put the stencil over the whole page but only sprayed water on random parts of it.

I moved the stencil and sprayed some ink through it at the top left.

The pink was rather bright so I sprayed water through a different stencil.  I stuck the quote, verse and title on and then inked the shapes with Distress Ink.

I felt it needed something more so I inked the 3 shapes at the bottom left.

I wrote my journaling in the large shapes.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Xenophile. (somebody who likes the people, customs, and culture of other countries, or things from abroad)

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using water based media.

Yesterday I showed you how I got to this point.

I used the stencil and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on the corners of the page.

I added the title and drew the large shape using the stencil.

I added the verse and the quote.

I journaled in the shape.  The page looked a bit empty so I put some washi tape.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using water based media.

I watched thevideo on using Dylusions White Linen.  I love this ink so it was great to see this video and have a play.

I sprayed both pages in my journal with the White Linen and then with 4 colours of Dylusions inks.

I sprayed ink through the stencil on just part of the page.

I added some washi tape and stamped the hearts.  I added the verse, quote and title.

I wrote my journaling along the edges of the page.

Gratitude Journal: Day 24

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Values.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using water-based media.

Today I used Dylusions inks and Dyan's bleachout technique.  I sprayed with orange and chocolate brown.

I used the Dylusions leaf stamps and Archival ink.

I used a water brush to removed the paint from the leaves.

I used a paint brush and the orange ink straight from the bottle to paint the leaves.

I found a spiral sticker which matched the colour from the facing page (yesterday's page).  I added the title, verse and quote.  With a white pen I drew on the leaves and journaled along the spiral.

12 Months in View Challenges

I had a catchup session for 12 Months in View when it came time to do today's art challenge as I hadn't done the technique challenge from earlier this month.

The technique challenge was to have a play with stencils.   I love playing with stencils.

I scraped modeling paste through a stencil.  I removed the stencil and sprayed the whole page with 4 different colours of Dylusions inks.

I dried it off and some of the modeling paste showed through.  I put a word stencil over the top and sprayed it with After Midnight Dylusions ink.  This was a bit too dark so I sprayed some White Linen on top.

Because I had lost some of the leaves I put the original stencil back on top and sprayed with water which took some of the ink off.

For the art challenge I sprayed the same 4 colours I used for the previous page over this leaf stencil.

My choice for a media I haven't used for a while is Pan Pastels.  These are all the colours I have.

I put the stencil back onto the page and applied the Pan Pastels.  I sealed it by spraying it with hair spray.

Gratitude Journal: Day 23

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Unwind.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques using stenicls.

I covered the page with gesso and when that was dry painted over it with acrylic paint.

When that was dry I used a paper towel through a stencil to remove the paint.  I put 3 different washi tapes round the edges to make a frame.

I stamped the clock and added the verse, quote and title.

I wrote my journaling around the title.
