Scavenger Hunt update

I am taking part in Rinda's summer Photo Scavenger Hunt and my first post was here.

Here is my next collection.

1 A 'wild' heart

2 A footprint or pawprint
This one is way 'out of the box'.  The tutor on a workshop I was at calls her hands 'paws' and she made this pawprint!

6  A camper (caravan)

7 A family gathering
I don't have many family members so here is my church family having lunch together.

9 Someone playing with, in, or around water

11 Fresh produce

13 The moon

15 A team logo

 18. A supermarket cart, basket or trolley full of groceries

19 A seasonal drink
A mojito - although to be honest I would drink this anytime I found one on the menu.

And Alternative 1: A lighthouse
I managed to see two different ones on my recent trip

I've really enjoyed the scavenger hunt so far and I have very few left to find.

Thanks for stopping by.

Glimpses of Jesus 30

Glimpses of Jesus in the Old Testament is a year long bible study written by Simon Clay of Jubilee Church Solihull.   You can join in at any time.

Today's post is about the wisdom and understanding found in Jesus.

For my journal page I decided to draw a signpost pointing to Jesus.  I drew it in pencil first.

Then I used fineliner pens to edge the sign and coloured in with inktense pencils.  I did consider using a wet brush to make the colouring look more like watercolour but decided against it.

Do have a look back through the posts on the Glimpses of Jesus blog where you will find links to other people's art and poetry.

Thanks for stopping by.

A few more days away

Last week I shared our three days in Sussex and Essex.  Our last two days were in Essex.  And I'm glad to say that the weather was glorious.

On the Thursday morning we drove to the Beth Chatto gardens.   Most places don't open until 10am but this garden opened at 9am.  We got there around 9.35am and had the gardens to ourselves for half an hour - just us and the birds singing.  It was wonderful.  We even woke up this duck.

Then we were off on our southerly drive via lots of little villages until we got to Heybridge Basin.

We visited Paper Mill Lock

We arrived in Maldon and booked into our B&B.  This was the view from the bedroom window.

We walked along the promenade before dinner.

The next morning was warm and sunny.  We were served breakfast in the garden and watched this Thames barge leave.

Roger wanted to visit Burnham-on-Crouch as he had worked as a sailing instructor there 50 years ago.

My friend Sandie had told me about Beeleigh Abbey and fortunately the gardens were open the day we were nearby so of course we visited.

We went to the canal lock on the Blackwater Canal near the Abbey.

We drove across country on our way home stopping in Saffron Waldon for a late lunch.

We had a wonderful 5 days and packed in far more than outlined here.

Thanks for stopping by.
